ABOUT US
Valletta Higher Education Institute is licensed by the Malta Further and Higher Education Authority (MFHEA) as a Higher Education Institution with Licence No: 2016-020.
The MFHEA deems this certificate to be at Level 6 (180 ECTS) of the Malta Qualifications Framework and the European Qualifications Framework for Lifelong Learning.
VHEI comes from the experience of FCM, that connects Italian and foreign professionals who own twenty-year experience in the field of videgames, animation, comics and cinema illustration. It aims to pursue and promote the research, study and spread of the culture of entertainment.
The Institute project is in collaboration with IUDAV . Thanks to this partnership, we offer a Bachelor’s Degree [Honour] in Digital Arts – Animation and Video Games through a highly professional study programme and a skilled teaching staff.
The teaching staff is a fundamental part of this project and it is composed of cultural and academic professionals who possess competence and knowledge of art, communication and techniques.
Valletta Higher Education Institute is supported by national and international entertainment enterprises that grant highly formative internships. There is, therefore, a sure continuity between the educational path and the integration in the labour market and besides in a sector that does not know crisis and has a positive trend.
MISSION
In recent years, the spread of PCs, game consoles, tablets and smartphones has developed hand in hand with the exponential progress of the technologies that support them.
Advertising, cinema, television, video games, interactive installations have, in turn, created a strong demand in the job market. Photoshop, ZBrush, Maya, 3D Studio Max, Unity3D, Corona, Construct, Adobe Animate, Premiere, After Effects, Audition are among the most powerful and well-known tools for pre-production, production and post-production of images.
All this has made possible a large-scale growth in the development of Digital Arts in various business sectors: from corporate communication to eLearning, from multimedia entertainment to particular therapeutic paths.
Today more than ever, videogame dynamics and animation components are not mere ancillary tools, but elements that determine the very structure of every multimedia product. This is how a world of work is configured in our society in which creative abilities are accompanied and enhanced by a complex and varied panorama of technical, applicative and methodological skills. Knowing in depth, exploring and developing the skills to use the technologies at our disposal is functional and strategic to respond to contemporary and future professional challenges. The Bachelor of Arts (Hons.) In Digital Arts – with specialization in Animation or Video Games course responds to this challenge by offering a broad, informed and dedicated training.
